God uses crooked sticks to draw straight lines.
That’s good news, because we are all crooked sticks. None of us has batted 1.000, thrown only touchdowns, and made every shot. While some of us are more crooked than others, we all are crooked, with a bent toward selfishness and indulgence.
But that’s okay. God is all about using crooked sticks.
Charles Spurgeon said, “I am a sinner, and Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. Sink or swim, I go to him; I have no other hope.”
We have this hope for one reason: “We have been made righteous” (Romans 5:19).
Recovery Step: It matters not have crooked your stick may be, but in whose hands it is placed.
