On this date in history, 1429, Joan of Arc ended the Siege of Orleans, pulling an arrow from her own shoulder and returning, wounded, to lead the final charge. The victory marked a turning point in the Hundred Years’ War, which actually lasted 116 years, from 1337-1453.
Two years later, Joan was burned at the stake for perceived heresy, at the age of 19. She has since been found innocent of all charges and heralded as a saint and martyr.
Sometimes, doing the right thing is only recognized with time.
James asked, “What good is it if people say they have faith but do nothing to show it?” (James 2:14).
The best way to secure your recovery tomorrow is to do something right today.
Recovery Step: Do the next right thing, whether anyone gives you credit for it or not.
