Dwayne Johnson said, “Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.”
Calvin Coolidge said it like this: “Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers. It may not be difficult to store up in the mind a vast quantity of facts within a comparatively short time, but the ability to form judgments requires the severe discipline of hard work and the tempering heat of experience and maturity.”
Recovery is hard work. It usually includes: meetings, working the Steps, thought replacement, therapy, a sponsor, and just saying ‘no.’
You can start recovery without hard work. But you can’t finish it that way.
Recovery Step: Solomon wrote, “All hard work brings a profit” (Proverbs 14:23). Recovery works if you work it. But you really have to work it.
