Conor McGregor

There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. MMA legend Conor McGregor said, “My success isn’t a result of arrogance. It’s the result of belief.”  Belief is good. Arrogance is not.  Pastor Sam Rainer said it like this: “Arrogance is not a good vehicle for the Gospel.” So what’s the problem with arrogance? From…

Presumptions

A new CEO demanded hard work from his employees. One day, he saw a guy standing by the food table, doing nothing. He yelled, “You’re fired! Get out of here!” Then he turned to one of the other men and said, “Smith, see what happens to slackers? Tell me, in your own words, what just…

Hole Digger

Two guys were working for the city. One would dig a hole, and the other would come behind him and fill it back up. A bystander was watching in disbelief. He said to the hole digger, “I am impressed by your hard work, the way you dig each hole. But why does your partner come…

Who Would Have Known?

And he created the perfect way to do that. We call it “sex.” And when limited to the marriage bed, sex is a wonderful…

A dietician was addressing a crowd who wanted to learn how to eat in a healthier way. After his speech, he took questions from the audience.  One person asked, “What food causes more pain and suffering years after its consumption?”  Before the speaker had time to respond, a wise guy yelled out: “That’s easy –…

The Tongue

The United States military is the world’s #1 purchaser of explosives. Coming in at #2 is – ready for this? – Disney World. Explosives are either good or bad depending on how they are used. The tongue is that way. James said that the tongue can bring great blessing or destruction, depending on how it…

The First YouTube Video

The very first YouTube video was an 18-second clip called “Me at the Zoo.” It was uploaded by the site’s co-founder, Jawed Karim, on April 23, 2005. The video was first recorded by Karim’s high school friend, Yakov Lapitsky, at the San Diego Zoo, featuring Karim in front of the elephant habitat. Major achievements often…

Samuel J. Tilden

The 2020 election was without controversy compared to what happened in 1876. You’ve probably heard of Rutherford B. Hayes, who won the election. But you need to know about his opponent, Samuel J. Tilden. Winning 52 percent of the vote, Tilden became the first – and only – presidential candidate in U.S. history to win…
